The largest enterprise in the region has been restored by a special agreement concluded between the regional akimat, the consortium Energomost and Aksu Kant LLP.

According to Murat Tolegenov, General Director of Aksu Kant LLP, T15 billion of investments were attracted for the reconstruction of the plant, of which T3 billion was allocated through JSC NC SEC Zhetysu to replace equipment.

“The plant is capable of producing 32 thousand tons of ready-made sugar per year. As for processing, the enterprise can annually process up to 310-350 thousand tons of sugar beet,” noted M. Tolegenov.

It is also noted that Czech, Russian and Ukrainian equipment was used to reconstruct the plant. The main suppliers of raw materials today are beet growers from Aksu, Sarkand and Alakol regions.

This season it is planned to process 80-100 thousand tons of beets with the creation of almost 600 job places for the local population.

“All this is being done within the framework of the order of the head of state Nursultan Nazarbayev to restore the former glory of Zhetysu sugar beet growing,” said the head of the region Amandyk Batalov during the launch of the enterprise.
