In the Almaty region this year Aksu sugar plant plans to take 150 thousand tons of beets

Mazhilisman Kuanysh Sultanov during his working visit to the Almaty region visited the Aksu sugar plant, where the first stage of the enterprise's modernization is now underway, reports tengrinews.kz.

As the deputy akim of the Almaty region, Serikzhan Beskempirov, noted, in connection with the launch of the sugar plant, the Aksu residents increased the area of ​​sugar beet. If last year 1600 hectares were planted with a sweet root, this year it is already 2,200 hectares. According to the information, about 200 workers are currently working at the plant, who are dismantling old equipment and installing modern units, which make it possible to increase production several times. As the plant workers noted, leading experts from Ukraine advise on the modernization of the enterprise. In addition, today the work with the peasants on the preparation of the harvest is in full force.

“This year 782 peasant farms cultivating sugar beets are planning to harvest 414.4 thousand tons of crop. This is approximately 370 centners per hectare. Aksu Sugar Plant is going to process 150 thousand tons of beets,” the regional deputy mayor informed.

In turn, deputy Kuanysh Sultanov noted the positive dynamics of growth of the agricultural sector in the region, and stressed that this gives a good impetus to the development of the entire cluster in this area.

“Having visited the Aksu sugar plant, I was impressed by the enormous work being done to revive the region’s past glory as a leading producer of granulated sugar. Every person is involved in this work: from a simple worker on the field to leading engineers who are currently installing expensive and modern equipment. It is very pleasant that agrarians of Sarkand region played an active role in this work, ”the Mazhilisman summed up.
