Modernization of Aksu sugar plant continues

A large-scale modernization continues at Aksu Sugar Plant, which started on January 8 of the current year after the plant finished processing the sugar beet accepted from farmers. This year, during the first stage, the technological equipment will be upgraded at the plant. In particular, new centrifuges, vacuum apparatus, filters and other necessary equipment will be installed. In general, the modernization of the enterprise, which is designed for 3 years, will recieve 12 billion tenge of investments.
The production capacity of the Aksu sugar plant, launched in October last year, is 12 thousand tons. Last year, the plant processed 67,797 tons of sugar beet, received more than 4 thousand tons of sugar.
According to Murat Tolegenov, Director of Aksu Sugar Plant, this year after the first stage of modernization, it is planned to process about 140 thousand tons of sweet root. One of the important innovations of this year will be the installation and launch of the technological line for pressing and packing the pulp.
"We buy Italian equipment for the extraction and packaging of pulp. If earlier the pulp was stored no more than 4 months, then after the launch of this technological line this useful feed for livestock can be stored for more than a year. Now in Aksu, Sarkand and Alakol districts there are dairy farms, peasant farms that are ready to buy our products. Then the market will expand. In addition, this year the plant will launch 3 modern lines for the packaging of sugar in bags weighing 25 and 50 kg each. Also there is a reconstruction and installation of new equipment. These are 5 centrifuges, vacuum apparatus, filters, syrup collections and more. In addition, we are introducing an automated management system that will allow transmitting all information about the work of the plant to a computer screen and eliminate the human factor, ” said M. Tolegenov.
During the second stage, next year, the CHP plant will be upgraded, where 4 new boilers and a turbine will be installed. Steam generators will also be replaced. In general, the plant is installing modern Russian, Ukrainian, Swedish, Italian, German equipment.
As M.Tolegenov noted, now 190 people work at the plant, about 250-280 people will be involved in the spring-summer period, and about 600 people per season.
Speaking about further plans for the development of beet breeding in the region, the deputy akim of the region Serikzhan Beskempirov, who oversees agriculture, stressed that the region is ready for sowing.
"French and German sugar beet seeds were purchased, which are now undergoing seed examination. From April 1, these seeds will be issued to the peasants. Also this year we will be issuing preferential diesel, 6 operators are working for this in the region. Agricultural machinery is ready. This year it is planned to increase the area of sugar beet to 12 thousand hectares. As for the further work of the Aksu Sugar Plant, this year the plant will start accepting beets from September, and from October, after modernization, processing will start," - S. Beskempirov noted.
It should be noted that last year in Almaty region the area of sugar beet reached more than 9.2 thousand hectares, the gross collection amounted to 334 thousand tons of sugar beet, Koksu and Aksu sugar plant produced 31 thousand tons of sugar.
