Aksu sugar plant will start receiving beets in late September

According to experts, up to 150 thousand tons of beets. The company will be able to complete up to 380 thousand tons of sweet root.

This year, the Aksu sugar plant is being upgraded. Purchased new equipment - from syrup filters to centrifuges. Plan to complete the repair in late September, by the time the harvest begins. Last year, the company processed 35 thousand tons of sweet root vegetables and produced the first 3.5 thousand tons of sugar. The plant was reanimated after 10 years of inactivity.

Zhandos Baymukhambet, chief mechanic of the Aksu sugar plant:

- After the modernization of the plant, we are ready to accept 150 thousand tons of sugar beet. At the end of the season, we plan to produce 13-15 thousand tons of white sugar.

The enterprise will accept the harvest of three districts of the region. Now local farmers will not have to carry their beets to the Koksu sugar plant, which is located a hundred kilometers away.

Sagit Bekbolatov, Head of Aksu District Agriculture Department:

- People got such interest on sugar beets. Last year, if 88 farms were engaged, then this year 117 farms are engaged in sugar beet. It was 1600 hectares, we planted 2020 hectares this year. We hope to make even more next year. At the expense of beet growers about 2500 - 2600.

Next year the third final stage of modernization will begin. After a complete repair, the capacity of the plant will grow from 2 to 4 thousand tons of processed beets per day. And by 2021, the company will be able to process up to 380 thousand tons of sweet root and produce about 40 thousand tons of sugar.
